LEATHER... noble and living material!

Welcome on the site of the Museum of the Tannery and some Leather of  Bort les Orgues !

Between Auvergne and Limousin, on the site of the old bortoises tanneries come to visit the Museum of the Tannery and some Leather.

In a place of 1000 m2, you will be able to discover the job of the tannery thanks to the exposure of machines being of use for the transformation of skins.

These equipments, so a guided tour and a video projection, will allow you to appreciate the job of the tanner since the raw skin until finished leather.

In the course of this visit, information will be given to you on the different names of leathers as well as advice of care and maintenance.
